Labor Day Weekend

Our Labor Day Weekend was spent in St. Louis it was a pretty last minute decision so we didn't get anyone to watch the pets and only stayed one night just loaded the pets up with food and water and it was all good.

This was about as close as we got to the arch on this particular trip.

Our goal on this trip was we were going to the Science Center which is a wonderful place and through Drury we got tickets for the Omnimax and for the special exhibit. It was the only thing we really had in mind so early in the morning we set out on our adventure, stopped by the hotel in the morning for our event ticket voucher and then went onto the museum.

For those curious the St. Louis Science Center is free to enter the only things that cost money are of course food, souvenirs, Omnimax and whatever the special exhibit is.The planetarium is also connected and is free to walk around in if I remember correctly (we didn't go this time) but of course the star shows do cost.

Lots of nifty things at the special exhibit. It was Robots and Aliens. It talked about TV aliens and Robots but also about real life things and special organisms we have here on our own planet which makes us believe they could survive in other environments.

The girls learning about the Mars Rover.

 Mind Ball.

I do have to say I was pretty stoked when I won against Peter!

The girls have been through many of the parts of the science center before but every time they come to understand a little bit more about different events and forces in the world and how we build and create.

If you take the time you can always learn something new or comprehend it a little better by revisiting it.

On day 2 before we headed back to our home we decided to go to the St. Louis Zoo. Again it is free to enter unless you want to ride the train or items like that but to just walk in and walk around it is free and it is a wonderful zoo!
It was super hot that Sunday so we were happy to leave but we were happy to have gone too and really enjoyed our time there.

That was our weekend trip.
I hope everyone had a wonderful day on Labor Day!

Katherine's Birthday and other fun

Hey folks been awhile. I've been just busy with life lately so while it comes to mind to make a post I just haven't due to working or running around for all sorts of appointments. I've also had a lot of problems trying to get my camera to upload properly since updating from Windows 10.

So I'm going to make a couple different post catching up a little bit from the past month.
This first one was Katherine's Birthday.

Yup my little girl is 11!! (Brielle's birthday is next week! OMG 15!)

This here is 4-H STEM Club it was the first of the year and happen to fall directly on Katherine's birthday which she loved. We had our local (when I say local it's from 40 miles away and in the next state we don't have a tv station in town) weather man come out and talk about his work and discuss the weather and why weather happens.

Katherine had her party at Ozone Laser Tag this year it's the first year she asked to have it some place other than the park.

We had one hot day (okay more than one I'm glad to be getting out of it and into the fall weather!) and I promised the girls I would take them to the Y to go swimming but when we got there even though the app said everything was open instead the pool was down for annual cleaning! So while they played pingpong I got a hold of one of my friends to see if we could steal her daughter and then we made our way out to one of the spray parks. The kids had a lot of fun and there was another group there that was making water balloons and let the girls get in on the fun.

Balloons over the garden normally happens earlier in the year while the girls are gone for the summer but this year it was rescheduled due to the weather so the girls were able to go and we paid for them to go up in a tethered ride. I would have loved for us go on a long balloon ride but it costs $200 PER PERSON! But the girls really enjoyed the tethered ride.

What happens when your dryer breaks? You have clothing strung up everywhere. We did eventually fix the dryer and thankfully it didn't require any new parts just we had a lint blockage in the line so it was annoying... we did tear a hole in my floor moving the dryer that was bad but things are together.

I'll make a separate post covering Labor Day weekend.

Miss you all and hope my life finds some balance soon it seems like I'm riding a pogo ball and I'm only trying to stand in place!

Last Week

Last week was pretty crazy. Monday was SUPER crazy I was running EVERYWHERE so I'm not even going to go into that. Plus work has been really rough and they approved me for extra time to get caught up (you notice I'm not taking it today).
The big thing is the kids started back at school last week. I now have a 6th grader and a 10th grader!! My word how time flies!

I have also been doing a lot of reading about sewing. Brielle has picked an extremely hard costume dealing with a lot of fabrics and techniques I have never used before so we shall see how this goes.

A picture can say a thousand words...

... or at least I hope so. It has been since June since I've posted so instead of doing lots of individual posts I'm just going to do pictures with captions if you're interested in our summer.
I will not be covering the family tragedy though as this is something we will be dealing with for the rest of our lives and my starting to post again is my attempt at finding normalcy in our lives once more.

My husband was called on stage at the Ren Fair to 'be a fool' I told them he was already a fool.

We found an endangered species.

Peter and I had just arrived at the beach and pretty much drove straight to the ocean.

Took the kiddos and some of the cousins out to the beach.

3 of the girls decided to make cupcakes and there's a few other cousins waiting for some.

Kiddos & Cousins at the beach Peter often took the kids down there.

On the deck of the N. Carolina Battle Ship

This does not even explain the size of this battleship!

Hubby and I on our dinner ship cruise.

Did I mention it was a Pirate Dinner Ship Cruise?

At the beach again.

Some folks dug a hole then gave it to the kids to play in.

Brother-in-Laws birthday.

4th of July

Peter and I got a new mattress.

I took the girls to a local coffee shop so I could hang out with a friend they of course played on their computers.

At the library.
The crowd at the library the kids are WAY on the other side of that sitting on the floor.
This is why they were sitting on the floor. Plus at the end of the lesson they got to pet the penguin!

Katherine at Band tryouts choose the Trumpet.

I look worried because we were at nearly the highest point of  a ride and I was holding my phone out. The girls and I at the county fair. We rode rides and watched the tractor pull.

At the library again we were there a lot.

We had Discover Dinosaurs at the convention center and a new lady wanted to interview them.

Katherine being a doof.
